The traitors who live happily among us

The traitors who live happily among us

It’s time for us to call out the traitors who put our lives at risk by doing everything they can to champion the cause of jihadist terrorism.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

—Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 - 43 BC)

This is a traitor.

His eyes are always bloodshot from heavy pot smoking, and he’s got a platform from which he disseminates his treasonous lies.

We created Islamic extremism: Those blaming Islam for ISIS would have supported Osama bin Laden in the ’80s

Jingoists conveniently forget the West’s Cold War strategy was to arm the Islamic extremists that became al-Qaida

Let’s be clear about what Ben Norton is saying: Preferring to not be murdered makes you a “jingoist.” And he’s also saying that choosing the lesser of two evils is wrong. Ben Norton therefore would’ve preferred that we didn’t help the Soviets defeat the Nazis. And if we hadn’t helped the Soviets, there’s a very good chance that the Nazis would’ve prevailed. With the raw materials of the Soviet Union under their control, the Nazis would’ve eventually defeated the United States. They were far ahead of us in terms of weaponry.

Ben Norton is a traitor and a liar.

History takes no prisoners. It shows, with absolute lucidity, that the Islamic extremism ravaging the world today was borne out of the Western foreign policy of yesteryear.

That’s a complete fabrication. Islamic extremism began threatening western civilization in 711 A.D., when the Muslim Berber Tariq ibn Ziyad invaded Spain with the approval of Musa bin Nusair, emir of Islamic Africa. By 716 most of Spain was under Islamic control. The Muslim Saracens were finally stopped at Toulouse in 721, but they continued sporadic attacks from Spain into France.

Muslims conquered all of Spain—aptly called “Septimania”—by 725. Each Muslim leader had his own agenda. Uthman ibn Naissa, for example, became the ruler of the eastern Pyrenees and ignored the orders of the emir of Cordova, Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi. The French Aquitanians allied with Naissa, which led Al Ghafiqi to attack and defeat both. Thus began the full-on Muslim invasion of Gaul. One by one, Gaulish cities surrendered to the advancing Saracens, who were warriors from Morocco, Yemen, and Syria.

And then in 732, the Saracens met the Frankish mayor of Austrasia, an unparalleled military genius named Charles Martel.

His name means “Charles the Hammer.” In his twenty-five years of fighting, he lost only his first battle.

Charles-Martel

Martel had no respect for preening chivalry. He attacked when he was vastly outnumbered, when his opponents were resting, and when they were parading. His greatest contribution to the art of war was utilizing elastic defense: feigning retreat and then falling on his enemy’s vulnerable flanks.

It was considered most ungentlemanly.

In October of 732, Charles the Hammer ambushed the Saracens at Tours. Arabs call it “the Battle of the Martyrs,” because Charles had trained his foot soldiers to stand fast in the face of Saracen cavalry charges. Usually Europeans fled at the sight of Berber and Arab horsemen with their lances. While the frustrated cavalry ran into an unyielding wall of shields, Frankish infiltrators went around the battle and attacked the Saracen camp, wreaking as much havoc as possible. They freed the African slaves, who joined the fight against the Saracens. In the confusion the Frankish raiders killed Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi, despite his heavy guard.

Leaderless, having never before met opposition that didn’t run, and faced with an enemy who ignored the politically correct rules of combat, the Saracens hotfooted it out of Gaul. Charles routed them in one day.

That was the first time Muslim extremists were prevented from conquering western civilization.

Ben Norton goes on to make even more laughably stupid statements. He says the US armed Osama bin Laden. That’s a lie. He says that the Islamic State of Afghanistan created in 1992 was a socialist government. That’s a lie. He says that the US government supported Salafist groups as a bulwark against socialism. That’s a lie. He says the Palestinian Liberation Organization is secular. That’s a lie.

It’s clear that Ben Norton is a pretend-socialist.

It is not a coincidence that most of the secular countries in the history of the Middle East have been socialist of some sort. In contrast, the most reactionary countries — the countries where women are not granted equal rights and where the rule of law is based on Sharia — have frequently tended to be close Western allies. Why? The West was much, much more interested in preserving capitalism than it was in allowing secularism, gender equality and relative economic equality to flourish under socialism.

[T]he reality is the Middle East was significantly more progressive and secular during the height of the Cold War than it is today. That’s not a coincidence. The U.S. and its allies destroyed secularism as part of their larger Cold War strategy.

What can you say? This is a lunatic’s version of events. Here are the progressive, secular, socialist societies for which Ben Norton pines.

Saddam Hussein’s Iraq
Hafez al-Assad’s Syria
Habib Bourguiba‘s Tunisia
Muammar Gaddafi’s Libya
Gamal Abdel Nasser’s Egypt
Suleiman Frangieh’s Lebanon
Hussein bin Talal’s Jordan
The People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen

Norton is a lunatic and a traitor. But he’s not even a real traitor. He’s happy to live in the US—safe, rich, famous, and content, while accusing this country of crimes that exist only inside his head, under his dyed hair.

Well, this is what I’ve come to expect from Jew-haters. Yes, of course he hates Jews.

The Russell Tribunal also crucially noted “that Israel’s ongoing colonial settlement expansion, its racial separatist policies, as well as its violent militarism would not be possible without the US’s unequivocal support.” The tribunal pointed out that Israel “is the largest recipient of US foreign aid since 1976 and the largest cumulative recipient since World War II” and that, between 1972 and 2012, the US was the lone veto of UN resolutions critical of Israel 43 times…

Although the Israeli government accuses the UN of bias, the evidence demonstrates the opposite. Secret cables released by whistleblowing journalism organization WikiLeaks revealed that the US and Israel worked hand-in-hand with the UN and Sec.-Gen. Ban in order to undermine investigation into and punitive action on Israel’s war crimes in Gaza.

“War crimes!” is the new “Racist!” It’s a war crime when Ben Norton’s hair salon is out of Goth-Girl Rubber Tire Black hair dye. If I took Ben Norton into a warehouse full of Israeli Defense Forces’ munitions, he wouldn’t be able to identify even one. Therefore he’s not qualified to write about war crimes.

Here’s what Ben Norton is qualified to write about.

This post is dedicated to the memory of Charles the Hammer, a man worth 200 million Ben Nortons. To make Ben queasy, here’s a quintessentially American song, full of the joy that grim, narcissistic, soulless poseur-traitors lack.

So Billy let your hammer ring on that railroad track
Keep pulling your load and never look back
Keep singing your song, slowly as you go
If death comes creeping don’t let it take your soul
